Beyond the Fourth Wall

Sean Stewart began his career as an award-winning novelist. In 2001 he was the lead writer on the A.I. Web Mystery, nicknamed The Beast, the project which created the genre of Alternate Reality Games (ARGs). Since then he has continued publish traditional novels while pioneering new kinds of storytelling through a series of groundbreaking online projects including i love bees and the Nine Inch Nails Year Zero experience.

His most recent novels—Cathy's Book, Cathy's Key and Cathy's Ring—merge these careers by using websites, phone numbers, emails and other "fourth wall" techniques to create uniquely interactive stories.
